Often asked: Broken Tripod How To Replace Head?

Can I replace the head on my tripod?

As the previous replies note, heads on cheap tripods are not meant to be removed. Even if you can, you can’t replace it since the mount is not anything standard. There won’t be any head you can buy that will fit.

How do you fix a tripod head?

Turn the head clockwise until it’s tight. Continue turning until you can’t tighten it anymore to lock it in place. Check under the head to make sure there’s no space between the head and tripod mount. The 2 parts should fit snugly together. If there’s any space, unscrew the head and reattach it.

How do you tighten a ball head on a tripod?

Ball heads are all the rage. They’re very quick and easy to adjust, the most basic models having a single locking screw. Release this and you get a full range of pan, tilt and swivel adjustments. Once the camera is in position, you simply tighten the screw to lock the head in place.
